This American Amber Ale was brewed in collaboration with the N.C. State Minerals Research Lab to celebrate their 70th birthday! As the oldest continuously running establishment on the South Slope, this neighborhood would not be what it is today without them, and neither would Green Man! Together we had the crazy idea to put actual quartz specimens in the mash to give it some magical science energy, and additions of pale chocolate and double roast crystal malt. A firm addition of Centennial hops balances out the malt and lends a dry finish. This beer literally rocks!
