What’s in a name? Only beer conforming to the "Stammwürze" law, which states a beer must have an Original Gravity of 13.5° Plato, can be served at Oktoberfest in Munich. Our version uses the eponymous Munich malt along with Vienna and German Pilsener malt; it is hopped exclusively with noble Hallertau- variety hops. Malty flavors blend with perfectly balanced hop character to make our festbier a highly drinkable lager. Dast Bier ist Wunderbar!

The resulting beer has notes of oak and vanilla that mellow on the palate with the residual bourbon flavor from the barrels and the heavy malt flavors of the original beer. We aged this batch with cacao nibs and Trager Brothers’ locally roasted, organic, fair trade coffee.
