Our friend Anna McClung from the USDA-Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center in Stuttgart asked us to brew an experimental batch of beer with a new variety of rice she’d been working on. Full of antioxidants from it’s red bran, this “Scarlett” rice proved pretty to look out without adding any color to the finished brew. The result is a light and easy drinking English Ale made with a unique Arkansas product! Thanks to Rainey Gibson and Arkansas Rice for supplying our winning name.
