Stone's Throw Crescentia Light Weizenbock

We love Old World wheat beers here at Stone’s Throw, and for our tenth style from the German tradition we’ve brewed a deceptively easy drinking giant! Light Weizenbock is Inspired by head brewer Theron Cash’s trip to the Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan (aka Weihenstephaner) near Munich, one of the most respected brewers of German wheat beers. Along with kristal, hefe & dunkel, Weihnstephaner brews a stronger “Vitus” single-bock weissbier. Our version of this weizenbock is essentially a double hefeweizen, keeping the light, hazy appearance and characteristic flavors from the yeast but with twice the alcohol. The Weihenstephaner version is named for St. Vitus, patron saint of entertainers and epillectics; we call ours Crescentia, the name of Vitus’s nanny and fellow martyr in reverence to the original!
