Public Coast Mama's Touch Imperial Brown Ale

Many years ago, on a trip to Mexico City, our master brewer Will fell in love with the flavors of his adopted home. Yes, tequila was involved. And so was a woman. “Mama,” as she’s called by family and friends alike, is not just the family matriarch, she’s a legend in the mole world. Moles are complex, time-consuming, and incredibly unique to every region. Mama’s mole paste blends rich chocolate with spicy chilis and several ingredients so classified, those who discovered them had to enter Witness Protection. Not one to challenge fate, Will created instead an homage in the form of an imperial brown ale. Aged in a tequila barrel, and flavored with Mama’s heady chili-chocolate mole, our Imperial brown goes out with love and gratitude to Mama.
