We are bringing in some Allagash Brewing awesomeness! So come, drink, enjoy! The Draft Lineup:*Astrid - Ale Aged in Aquavit Barrels 9.7% (Limited Release) Astrid is a bright golden color with assertive aromas of spice, bread crust, apple, and fennel seed. Citrus, oak, and anise give way to warm vanilla notes followed by a slightly tart finish. They brew this saison with Pilsner, raw wheat, and Biscuit malt, and ferment it in stainless steel for a year with a blend of traditional saison yeast and Brettanomyces. After fermentation is complete, they transfer the beer to Scandinavian Aquavit barrels, where it ages for an additional eight months. *Tiarna - Ale Aged in Oak Barrels 7.1% (Limited Release) Tiarna is a blend of two beers, one aged in oak and fermented with 100% brettanomyces, and the other fermented in stainless with a blend of two Belgian yeast strains. Both beers were brewed with a combination of 2 row and wheat malt in addition to specialty grains and hopped with Hallertau, Styrian Goldings and Cascade hops. The finished beer is dark golden in color with aromas of citrus, pineapple and bread. Notes of grapefruit, lemon, and bread crust punctuate the flavor with a long, dry finish.*Confluence - Ale Fermented with Brettanomyces and Dry Hopped 7.4% (Limited Release)Allagash Confluence is a strong golden ale, utilizing a mixed fermentation and dry hopping techniques inspired by a Belgian classic. Confluence is brewed using a blend of imported and domestic Pilsner malt, as well as a small portion of caramel malt, resulting in a complex malty profile. Confluence is fermented using both their house yeast strain and their proprietary Brettanomyces yeast strain. This layered fermentation creates a unique blend of fruit and spice flavors along with an incredibly silky mouthfeel. After fermentation, Confluence undergoes a lengthy aging process in stainless steel that allows the complex flavors to fully develop. Just prior to bottling, it is dry hopped with Glacier hops, providing a pleasant fruity aroma.*James Bean - Ale Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels w/Coffee Added 11.0% (Limited Release)James Bean is a bourbon barrel aged, Belgian style strong ale that is infused with cold press coffee, post fermentation. Coffee, vanilla and bourbon dominate the aroma. Flavors of caramel, coffee, bourbon, and oak present themselves throughout this full bodied beer. The coffee used in James Bean is Matt’s Wood Roasted Organic Coffee, roasted locally in Maine. The beans used are Ethiopia Amaro Gayo and are known for their lush blackberry and blueberry fruit flavors.*St. Klippenstein - Belgian-style Stout Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels 11.0% (Limited Release)At the brewery, they celebrate St. Klippenstein day to commemorate their love of free ham, pot lucks, and strong stouts. Notes of vanilla, coconut and oak infuse the palate and lead to a smooth, warm finish. This full bodied beer is brewed with an array of dark roasted malts: dark chocolate malt, roasted barley, chocolate malt, and brown malt. After being hopped with Chinook and Northern Brewer, and fermented with a Trappist-style yeast for a month in stainless, the beer spends three months aging in bourbon barrels.*Black - Belgian-style Stout (Year-Round Release)Allagash Black is a Belgian-style stout brewed with 2-row barley, torrified wheat, oats, both roasted and chocolate malt and a generous portion of dark caramelized candi sugar.
