Maibock is a seasonal variant of Bock beer that is traditionally brewed for May. Since bock beers are generally stronger and stronger than other beers, they were brewed and served as a special treat for the palate at the beginning of the warm season. May Day is traditionally celebrated with the Maibock, especially at May festivals, combined with the putting up of the Maypole as well as music and dancing.
