Our San Diego Pale Ale has so many hop additions that we were forced to redesign our brewlogs to fit everything on one page. Though it pours a surprisingly light gold, a slight haze betrays the huge amount of dry-hops that complete each batch. This onslaught hits the entire spectrum of hop flavors and aromas with especially notable grapefruit and pine character. The balance, if you can call it that, is decidedly bitter with just enough clean malt flavor to keep you coming back - this isn't your typical "one and done" Double IPA! Brewed by San Diego hopheads for San Diego hopheads, Chaotic is a charmingly aggressive beer.

No slouch in the glass, Manzanita’s India Pale Ale (IPA) is brewmaster Garry Pitman’s delicious interpretation of this popular West Coast beer style. IPAs have a lot of hoppy flavor because when that style of beer was created, it was being shipped from England to India around Africa’s southern cape, and needed lots of hops because hops are a natural preservative. The Manzanita IPA is hoppy itself, with a ruby color and citrus and piney nose (a result of dry-hopping), and it drinks with a roasted, sweet malt character. It sips well with spicy foods, Thai and Indian dishes and chicken. It’s also makes a great marinade base.

An intricately hopped India Pale Lager brewed with complexity and drinkability in mind. Our brewers sought to design a well nuanced beer that displays layers of juicy hop aromas and flavors and clean malt character. Fermented at cool temperatures, the late additions of Amarillo and EI Dorado hops display brilliance and support subtle usage of malted rye and light Munich malt. Dry-hopped with a blend of Australian Galaxy and EI Dorado, the finished beer is dripping with aromas of fresh grass, melon, strawberry, and orange-creamsicle. A soft, but firm bitterness highlights the spicy rye notes and clean fermentation profile. At 6.04 ABV and 60 IBU, we want you to enjoy this beer at its peak freshness. So we are putting it on tap the moment it has been kegged. Beginning Friday, December 25th, "The RIPL Effect" will be available on draft at Twisted Manzanita Ales (10151 Prospect Ave, Santee) and San Diego Brewing Company (10450 Friars Road, San Diego). Forget the mimosas, this will be the perfect brunch quaff. Stop by for Growlers and Pints, we made enough to stick around ... at least until it’s gone.
