Over 50,000 units of Fuku?s pride is in the freezer for future breeding. In his final days, Fuku was given the opportunity to ?socialize? with some fine, young cows. Instead, he chose to take a nap. A limited release fresh-hop beer, Independence Hop Ale was brewed in two 50-barrel batches, following the harvest cycle of the hops. The first batch was brewed with 500 pounds of fresh, unkilned Centennial hops. The second was brewed a week later with 750 pounds of wet Cascade hops, picked, stuffed into sacks, driven 77 miles to Newport and tossed in the brew kettle before they had a chance to start drying. After fermentation, the two batches were blended together. A light copper-colored, unfiltered ale marrying two distinctive hop characteristics.

This unique ale consists of Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar aged in Rogue?s Hazelnut Spiced Rum barrels. To craft this exceptional brew, John Couchot first distills Rogue Hazelnut Spiced Rum and ages it in white oak barrels, allowing the barrels to soak up the subtle flavors of Oregon hazelnuts, vanilla and spices from the rum. When the rum is finished aging, the barrels are emptied and John Maier immediately fills them with Hazelnut Brown Nectar. After approximately 6 months of ocean aging, this unique ale is ready.

Imperial Stout, also known as ?Russian Imperial Stout? is a variety of ale that was originally brewed in England for export to the court of the Tsar of Russia. Its high level of hopping is intended to preserve it during long trips and to provide a more bracing drink against cold climates. The color is very dark, nearly opaque black. Imperial stout exhibits enormously powerful malt flavors, hints of dark fruits, and is often quite dry.

Imperial Younger's Special Bitter was originally brewed in 2006 to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Horse Brass Pub in Portland, Oregon. The Horse Brass Pub, owned by the legendary Don Younger, was Rogue's first account in Portland in 1989 and Younger's Special Bitter was developed by Rogue brewmaster John Maier as the house beer for the Horse Brass.
