This is our take on the English Extra Special Bitter. This recipe has been brewed largley unchanged for upwards of 25 years while our head brewer was still in graduate school. Our version is hoppier, more malty, and has a higher ABV than its British cousin, but retains a suprising balance and drinkability. A tall cream-colored head tops off this gorgeous dark amber beer.

This gorgeous Baltic Porter has a thick, creamy, toffee-colored head that greets you with roasted coffee and notes of noble hops. Made from a blend of nine different varieties of grain, this full-bodied porter has a deep, dark chocolate character. A strong, malty backbone is balanced by a healthy dose of European and American hop bitterness. The Black Lightning Porter ages incredibly well, increasing in smoothness, creaminess, and chocolate character over time. We've enjoyed some that is over four years old!

This is our French Farmhouse Ale, whose rich aroma is full of sweet, fruity esters and notes of farmhouse yeast character. This medium-bodied, unfiltered beer has sweet malty foundation with a touch of sourness and hints of spiciness which add an intriguing character to the beer. Like the flavor, our carbonation is naturally produced by our fermentation methods - light, playful, champagne-like bubbles make enjoying this beer an experience not to be missed.

This is a premium example of the classic German Pilsner. Clean, crisp and refreshing, the Elemental Pilsner is pleasantly full-bodied. Generous use of German noble hops provides this beer with a complex hop presence with a dry and slightly bitter finish. A bright white, lacey head tops off this award-winning session beer.

The Fair Weather Pale Ale is an accessible beer that will also appeal to fans of well-crafted UK-style IPA's. Contintental hops and a hint of esters round out the aroma from a lacy white head. A light, smooth carbonation permeates this medium-bodied beer, and closes with a clean and slightly bitter finish. Although not brewed to fit in a particular category, this American/UK hybrid pale ale is a great session beer.

The Ionizer Lager is a Pre-Prohibition style American Lager brewed at Bock strength and filtered for clarity. We use North American malted barley and corn to give this beer a medium body and slight corn sweetness. A light blend of American and German hops provides a remarkably smooth finish. We've noticed that this beer has a loyal following of American-style beer drinkers, and although not brewed to category, the Ionizer Lager is certainly a beer with 'more!'

The Old Tempestuous Ale is our award-winning UK strong ale. A bold aroma of sherry, dried fruit, and hearty maltiness exudes from a thin, off-white head. A warm fermentation produces a rich, smooth, and slightly spicy flavor that masks the high alcohol content, perceived as gentle warming. Unfiltered by definition, subtle complexities enhance this bold and flavorful beer which only gets better with age.

The Thunderweizen is brewed in the style of a traditional German Hefeweizen: lots of wheat, vigorous fermentation, and completely unfiltered for a full, refreshing flavor that perfectly compliments San Diego's perpetual good weather. Despite the hints of banana, citrus, clove, and other spices, we do not add additives to our beer - that impressive flavor is naturally produced.
