Essentially an Imperial version of our famed KY Ryed Chiquen, this strong, rye-barrel aged, imperial rye amber ale is very rich. A prominent bourbon nose gives way to a full body carrying lots of rye spice, vanilla, cherry, caramel, wood, and warm alcohol flavors. The Maris Otter base malt lends this beer a full, grainy, almost biscuit character indicative of English influence, but the Munich and melanoidin malts lend a German, almost Oktoberfesty note that pairs well with the significant barrel flavors derived from a three month stint in freshly dumped rye bourbon barrens.

We ain’t goats!! And we sure ain’t chicken! Our crew at ATG joined up with the fine folks of Dry Ground and created a real gem of a Bock Bier, with just a little extra Saaz punch. Our hoppy Bock is a little higher ABV, so it has a nice melon esther from the usually subtle Lager yeast, but still the same expected crispness. A healthy dose of Munich and Melanoid in malts lay a nice, sweet fruitiness over the Pilsen base. It’s enough to excite any clucker.

Berliner Weisse is a top-fermented, bottle conditioned wheat beer made with both traditional warm-fermenting yeasts and lactobacillus culture. They have a rapidly vanishing head and a clear, pale golden straw-coloured appearance. The taste is refreshing, tart, sour and acidic, with a lemony-citric fruit sharpness and almost no hop bitterness. Tourists in Berlin will often order on as a "Berliner Weisse mit Schuss: Himbeere" or "Berliner Weisse mit Schuss: Waldmeister". These are syrups that are added to make the sourness more palatable. Himbeere is raspberry (red) and Waldmeister is woodruff (green).

Beats all you ever saw Originally an Against the Grain Brewery and Brouwerij De Molen collaboration beer. For the first incarnation, De Molen head brewer Menno Oliver hopped in a muscle car and drove straight through from the Netherlands to Louisville, KY (that's USA folks) to brew this bourbon inspired ale, and we liked it so much, we decided to do it again. We took the ingredients in bourbon whiskey (Barley, Rye, Corn) and then smoked them with cherry wood and brewed a huge imperial stout with them. Then to top it off we aged it in Pappy VanWinkle Bourbon Barrels. The resulting beer is rich, smokey and complex, with a bourbon character of caramel, vanilla and spice.

Brewed with a load of wheat and a touch of coriander, we then aged this beer for 6 months with two different stains of Brettanomyces for a funky, fruity, acidic edge. To round out that flavor, we added citrus zest for even more of a mouthful. She's a complicated woman.

Pilsner malt, spelt and torrified wheat make up the grain bill, balanced with the fruity and resinous New Zealand hop Pacific Gem. Then we added galangal, a tropical herbaceous plant rhizome imparting a spicy, floral and earthy flavor and aroma. Then kaffir lime leaves were steeped to provide a perfumed citrusy aroma. Both galangal and kaffer limes leaves are used in traditional Asian cuisine. And if that wasn't weird enough, post fermentation we added the juice of several yellow midget watermelons straight off the Proof farm. The resulting beer is fresh, flavorful and interesting.

Our take on a Dutch Lentebier, this is the quintessential spring brew for people who enjoy flavor. The Lentebier was popularized in the Dutch town of Haarlem but has not gotten nearly enough attention here in the US. It could be described as a strong hoppy Belgian blonde with coriander. Look for a bouquet of crisp flavors and aromas to rub up on you, whether you want it or not. Citrussy hops pair perfectly with the subtle toasted coriander notes, and a full, slightly malty body adds just a hint of sweetness. Go ahead, own your inner frotteur. It’s totally normal. Something like 30% of people do it.

'Made in Kenucky by Kentuckians' Originally brewed as a conceptualization from our friends at the Nachbar....This historical anomaly is one of the only styles of beer indigenous to the USA and it was originally brewed right here in the Bluegrass! Much like our more beloved and covet cousin sour mash bourbon, this ale is brewed in the manner of 'souring the mash'. First we start with a blend of grains similar to your favorite spirit, barley, rye, and corn and we start the sour mash. In that process, we are able to achieve a deliciously complex tart flavor that plays with the spiciness of rye, while finishing with a dry crispness from the corn. Moderately hopped to balance the sweetness of this Kentucky Common, one will get notes of dry fruit, sweet tarts, and hints of tannin from a very small amount of barrel aged character. ABV 6.5%

What's the first thing you need to do when you start a brewery? Develop your logo, of course. With any potentially decent brewery, your logo must be a skull, it has to be a skull, you'll be laughed out of the room if you don't have a skull. So we went hunting in the area where all the great skulls have come from and were shit out of luck. By those fateful dumpsters all we found was this deformed neanderthal type deal, or maybe it's from an ape, and a big ol' pile of face. To celebrate our lack of success in finding a really cool skull, we are embracing another required cliché by brewing this American IPA. A modicum of simple malts provide the mediocre backbone to the mountain of various hops that are utilized and rotated throughout the brewing process. Look for dank overtones supported by various citrus and heirloom fruits. It's the straight forward fuckin' IPA that you always wanted from us. You lucky bastard.

We have banded together, providing Saladbarity for all working class peoples. Collaborative effort from the Country Boys of Lexington, KY and Louisville's Against the Grain Brewery. Stylistically a Baltic Porter, this opaque black lager is brewed with a blend of Pilsner and Maris Otter base malts, while the dark color and roasty flavor comes from both caramel and chocolate malts. Clean hop bitterness and spicy aroma is achieved by an early boil addition of Magnum hops and a late addition of Czech Saaz. Fermented cold with a lager yeast strain for an authentic, bold and well rounded flavor.

This Belgian table bier is a traditional entry into the Session category. It is meant to be consumed with food but also stands well on its own. When you need to drink the whole meal and want something with plenty of flavor but don’t want to get shit-twisted from the alcohol, this is a great choice. Look for a smooth malty body with hints of biscuit and rye. The hops are subdued and mostly present as a bittering agent. The yeast plays a prominent role increating bready and lightly fruity notes.

Caramel malt flavors meld with sweet potato in the mash and are joined with brown sugar and lactose in the boil for a sweet and starchy richness. Roasted sweet potatoes tossed with zested ginger and lemon and added to the fermenter compliment fruity esters and lend a citrusy, zingy finish to what is otherwise a big-bodied treat. We’re pretty sure this is not a traditional greeting in Japan, but it could be. Who knows? No one; that’s who. This Japanese style lager was made with ample amounts of flaked rice, waters from ice gathered atop Mt. Fuji, and green tea. Still not Japanese enough for you? Fine, bitches, we also dry wasabi-ed the shit out of it, and threw in some jasmine green tea for good measure. This beer is great for a lovely spring day in a garden or hotspring, and even better for fighting giant robots or scavenging for used panties. Cherry blossoms in the spring ain’t got nothin’ on us. What’s up, bitches?
