A medLast July (in 2015), hundreds of beer lovers gathered at Wisconsin Brewing Company to view the spectacle. Nearly 800 gallons of wort were pumped into a huge metal kettle, while granite boulders, super-heated in the brewery’s firepit, were dropped in by crane. The resulting ale was judged a grand success. The very limited quantities that weren’t sold were aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, and this "Bourbonifide"ium-bodied Scottish-style ale with a central focus on maltiness and caramel flavors.
