Considered a dying style, this German Dampfbier (Dampf=Steam) is a delightful medium bodied ale fermented with traditional wheat ale yeast. The catch, there's no wheat in the recipe. Fermented at higher temps, the signature Hefeweizen characteristics of banana, clove and vanilla are noticeable in this beer. A Bavarian inspired grain bill provides a bright, malty palate that complements the fruity and spicy notes traditional to the style.
