This is our take on a classic American style Barley wine ale. (Historic Strong Beer)
Huge malty flavor balanced with liberal use of Cascade hops. Once fermentation was completed, we aged this beer in bourbon and Cruzan Rum barrels for 7 months.
Strong spirit flavors of rum and bourbon with firm malt backbone. Notes of vanilla, tobacco, slight hints of dark chocolate. El Oso Viejo translates as the “Old Bear” inspired by old California Barley Wine Recipes.
