The Grissete like the Saison was originally brewed for the peasant workers, although in this case those working in the coal and stone mines in Southwest Belgium.
This Grisette follows the traditional style of being light in both ABV and color. Wheat and oats add body to the beer while the rye gives it a farmhouse twist. The yeast is a farmhouse Saison yeast and creates the beers light chardonnay characteristics. A crisp, dry, and refreshing beer once used to quench the thirst of those exiting the mines.
