An intensely hoppy pale ale with minimal malt character, designed to showcase its strong hop flavors.
Hey Makisupa Policeman,
Policeman Came to My House
Hey Makisupa Policeman
Policeman Came to my House,
Woke up this Morning……
Kind Hops in my head,
Woke up this morning
Kind Hops all over my Bed
Woke up this morning,
Drank the kind hops up
Woke up this morning,
Finished the kind hops in my cup!
Makisupa Haze is our newest foray into the crazy world of hazy, hoppy beer. A Double India Pale Ale by nature, the Makisupa Haze was brewed with mountains of fluffy oats. We then pummeled the wort with Mosaic CO2 extract and New Zealand grown Wai-iti, before fermenting with our favorite “hazy” yeast strain. Following fermentation we hit the beer with three massive dry-hops consisting of three New Zealand varieties (Nelson Sauvin, Wai-iti, and Moutere) and a tad bit of NW grown Mosaic.
Presented with a hazy orange hue and tight white head that seems to never dissipate; you are first greeted by an explosive aroma of tropical fruit, coconut flesh and fresh squeezed OJ; finishing with a touch of that sweet dankness. The beer floats pillowy-soft across the mouth upon first sip, as wave after wave of fresh papaya, candied mango, passionfruit and berry CBD gummies ripple along the palate. Thick hop oil coats the mouth throughout, leading to an all-encompassing desire for another sip.
We present this beer as an ode to all things delicious and drinkable in our lives. A state of being that we create wherein we can sit back; relax; dip; sip and enjoy! Cheers!
***Note***
Makisupa itself is a reference to the band Phish and one of their oldest songs Makisupa Policeman (referenced in the lyrics above), and yes the author is a fan.
