Oakshire BBA Doggerland

In the summer of 2016, we brewed our first rendition of our 2016 winter seasonal- Doggerland Baltic porter. Baltic porter is a strong porter fermented with lager yeast. We took a small portion of the beer and laid it to rest in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Once in the barrels we moved them into the far back corner of our cooler where they were not disturbed for many moons. The beer continued to lager in the bourbon barrels for nearly 19 months integrating the oak character and spirit seamlessly into the liquid while also creating a smooth and delicious dark beer.
