Five breweries located near the shores of Lake Michigan are collaborating to celebrate beer, music and kick off Michigan Beer month. An expanded brewing crew including brewers from New Holland, Old Boy’s Brewhouse, Lake Charlevoix Brewing, Rare Bird Brewpub, Big Hart Brewing brewed “Mashpaddle IPA”, and are taking the beer and the brewers on a tour of the lakeshore to kick off Fourth of July and Michigan Beer Month.
Mashpaddle IPA is a Michigan-grown, collaborative brew, celebrating Michigan’s brewing, agriculture and music. A light but deep golden color expresses a solid bready, biscuity malt base from Michigan barley, malted by Michigan Malting, Pilot Malt House and Empire Malting which includes caramel, vienna, pale and pilsner malts. The hops, grown in Empire, Michigan in collaboration with Empire Hop Farms and MI Local Hops include chinook, centennial, crystal and cascade. These Michigan hops bring forward a bright, citrus-forward body with elegant bitterness and robust aromatics of pine needles, cedar and grapefruit.
Pairings: Soulful music, summer nights, barbecue and fish tacos.
7.5 % ABV, 50 IBUS
