This beer started as an amber ale fermented with raspberries and blackberries. Next It was transferred to a red wine barrel where additional raspberries and blackberries were added and allowed to continue fermenting and aging over the next 9 months. During this time, various strains of Brettanomyces were added to the barrel to feed on additional sugars and provide further complexity. Strong notes of berry, especially strawberry, are complemented by a subtle tart, vinous quality which is rounded out by the oak quality of the barrel. Proof that good things come to that which waits!
