5 Rabbit Ponche

Ponche is a beverage tradition common in Mexico. It varies quite a lot, but there’s always a lot of fruits and a few select spices. Our version translates this into a barleywine-style ale, with plenty of rich caramel malts, apple juice, orange peel, and come select and subtle spices. Oh, and of course a good handful of hops. There’s no big story, just a warm and inviting beverage to share with family and friends and celebrate the bonds that hold us all together. Ponche may be savored in a small snifter or short tulip at about 50 F (10 C)Or, for a wintertime treat, try gently warming it and serving it in a mug with a stick of Mexican cinnamon. A dab of whipped cream wouldn’t be out of the question.
